Black Star Awards

                

The coveted Black Star award is presented to the flyer who crashes an aircraft and causes damage sufficient to prevent that aircraft from flying again the same day.   Pilots who accumulate 5 Black Stars are entitled to the Society of Aircraft Destructors patch.   Although presented in good humor, the Black Star also serves as a teaching tool that enables others to learn from our mistakes and thus avoid a similar fate.
